Catch Anthony Bourdain and Carla Hall at Capital Food Fight

D.C. has an increasing number of celebrity chefs, but most of the time you won’t see them in town or together. Except once a year at D.C. Central Kitchen’s annual Capital Food Fight. Tickets for the TV star-studded Nov. 11 fundraising event at the Ronald Reagan Building are now on sale.

So who exactly will attendees be stalking for selfies? The Chew’s Carla Hall is back to host alongside Parts Unknown star Anthony Bourdain. An Iron Chef-style battle with mystery ingredients will feature chefs Frederik De Pue (Menu and Table), Tim Ma (Maple Ave Restaurant and Water & Wall), Marjorie Meek-Bradley (Ripple and Roofers Union), and Javier Romero (Taberna Del Alabardero).

The judges panel is equally all-star: Daniel Boulud (who just opened DBGB Kitchen and Bar in D.C.), Chopped host Ted Allen, Bayou Bakery chef David Guas (also host of the Travel Channel’s American Grilled), and pastry chef Christina Tosi, who will bring Momofuku Milk Bar to CityCenterDC next year. Meanwhile, Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman and ABC7 News Senior Political Reporter Scott Thuman will host a “high stakes cakes” competition, in which four teams of pastry chefs will try to make the best cake.

And of course, there will be eating, not just gawking. More than 75 area restaurants will serve dishes.

Tickets (available at aren’t cheap at $250, but all of the money will go toward DCCK’s mission to combat hunger, bring healthy foods to schools, and train the unemployed in culinary careers.
