Brown rice is said to be a rich source in vitamin B and also a great source of filling fibre. Chew up this brown rice recipe as a takeoff on prepared cereal. Cook the brown rice the night before. Next morning place it in a bowl with some glittery juicy honey on the top, a cluster of raisins, sliced apples or strawberries and some dust of cinnamon for a refreshing scrumptious delight. Tip Alert- in case you don’t like rice, go for some cooking grains like barley, oats, and buckwheat.

When you know you will have a late lunch or will probably miss lunch because of your meeting, try having lunch for breakfast. This way you’ll not have to miss lunch and your breakfast will be healthy as well as yummy. Instead of butter or cheese spread, top your morning toast with 2 tablespoon of tuna prepared with low fat mayonnaise. Tuna is a rich source of energy boosting protein. If not tuna, try for smoked salmon. You could also sprinkle your whole wheat burrito with low fat cheddar cheese and broil for it for about 3 minutes. While it’s getting cooked, munch in some almonds or apple or an orange. This quick breakfast cum meal, you are getting vitamins, proteins, calcium, fibre and an enough appetite satisfaction to keep you going for hours.

If ever too late for work yet, don’t want to skip breakfast, here’s a remedy. You could simply increase your protein and fat in just a couple of minutes. Tuck in a bag of nuts, almonds, raisins and cashew nuts. You can chomp them while driving or in the bus or the train. Also you could try spreading a spoonful of peanut butter on your waffle while running out the door. Leave a peanut butter jar at your desk. Whenever hungry at work, gulp a spoonful of it. This will help you greatly. Lastly, in free time on holidays make a granola bar at home. All you have to do is blend 2 cups of oats with 1 cup dry fruits. Add a little brown sugar. Toast it for 3-5 minutes in a pre-heated oven. Your home made granola bar is ready. Shape it the way you like.

The most important thing you can do when figuring out what to have for breakfast is to always avoid skipping it. It could be quite a brain racking challenge but its worth the effort. Having a breakfast at home, in your car, at work will provide you with enough energy until lunch. Like Robert A. Heinlein once said, ‘one should not attend even the end of the world without a good breakfast.’
