Bullfrog Bagels Owner Not Planning to Sell His Bagels to The Trump Hotel

Early this morning, Trump International Hotel chef Oliver Beckert posted a photo of Bullfrog Bagels on his Instagram, claiming the local goods would be served at the hotel this fall.

But this is news to Bullfrog Bagels owner Jeremiah Cohen.

"That is bullshit," Cohen says. "[DonaldTrump is a bigot... So I would have a really hard time selling to him."

Cohen says Daniel Mahdavian, an old friend who's now the Director of Food & Beverage for the Trump Hotel, came by for samples. "That was it," Cohen says. "How could just giving someone samples lead to this?... I wasn't going to say, 'Oh no, you can't have samples.'"

Cohen says he supports José Andrés and restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian, who both backed out of a deals to open restaurants in the hotel after Trump's inflammatory remarks about immigrants. Both celebrity chefs are now embroiled in breach of contract lawsuits with the Trump organization.

"Only if Trump makes amends for his bigotry and all these other reprehensible comments that he's made, just maybe Bullfrog would sell to them," Cohen says.

Y&H has contacted the Trump hotel PR team and Mahdavian for comment and will update this post when we hear back.

UPDATE: Beckert has removed the Instagram post.
