EatsPlace Plans September Launch With Biscuits and Soul Food

Park View food incubator and "pop-uppery" EatsPlace is finally preparing to launch at the beginning of September. First in its line-up of chefs-in-residence? Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. and DC Born and Raised chef Charles Lyons, who will be serving elevated soul food

The biscuit business from  Ayesha AbuelhigaMo Cherry, and chef Jason Gehring will be open weekdays for breakfast and lunch, serving biscuit sandwiches, platters, and spreads. Meanwhile, Lyons, who's worked at Georgia Brown’s, Hill Country, and Mari Vanna, will serve twists on Southern favorites daily for dinner and weekend brunch. Both groups will cook out of EatsPlace through the end of the year.

EatsPlace founder Katy Chang says there will also be a market in the main dining room, where she'll sell artisanal products from local and some national vendors, including coffee from nearby Qualia Coffee and kimchi from her own business, Artisanal Soy.

Chang is still waiting on a few final permits that will determine the official launch date. Stay tuned for more info.
