Protein Bar opens its fourth D.C. area location today at 17th and K streets NW. The first 100 people in line at 11 a.m. will receive a $100 gift certificate. You can totally get a dozen free Buffalo “Bar-ritos” for that much.

In case you haven’t visited the Chicago-based chains other locations in Ballston, Penn Quarter, and at 19th and K streets NW, a “bar-rito” is Protein Bar’s trademarked version of a protein-rich burrito. The restaurant was founded in 2009 by Matt Matros after he lost 60 pounds on a high-protein diet. He went on to later be named  the Windy City's fourth most eligible man by Chicago's Modern Luxury magazine in 2011.

In addition to the quinoa-stuffed ‘ritos, Protein Bar's menu includes a number of bowls, soups, salads, and chili plus high-protein shakes. Many of the items are also gluten-free.
