Tomato Sauced Pasta

Ever thought that there could be a combination of yummy and wealthy? Here we are to give you this divine pleasure of real taste and with loaded richness. This is an easy to make tomato sauce to go with your sleek tenderly pasta. This sauce is most certainly low in salt and fat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon tomato puree
  • a pinch of mixed dried herbs
  • powdered pepper to taste
  • 210g uncooked pasta
  • Salt to taste

Method to prepare:

Take a sauce pan or frying pan. Let it heat well. Add oil to it and warm the oil. Throw in some finely chopped onions and fry it on a medium flame until they get soft. Now add the garlic and cook it for another couple of minutes. See to it that the pan is not extremely hot or else it will burn the garlic. And the burnt garlic will make your sauce taste bitter. Once you get the garlicky essence, pour in the tomato puree with the chopped tomatoes and sprinkle some mixed herbs as well. Let it bubble gently for about 15 minutes until you see ruby thick gravy in front of you. Shower some powdered pepper to taste after adding salt. Cook the pasta as per the packet instructions. Take a plate and place the tangled pasta in a whirling movement. Now add the crimson tomato sauce to your spiralling paste with a mist of mixed herbs on the top.

It serves 2 and tastes best when served hot. The time required to make this dish is 35 minutes.

Tip Alert: you could also add some tuna or salmon for an extra dose of protein to the sauce after pouring in the tomato puree.  Also this sauce can be used for spreading’s on pizzas. You can also try this sauce on various veggies too.
