Restaurant Week got off to a slow start Monday as local restaurants recovered from the weekend's snow storm. Some businesses were dealing with delayed food deliveries, while others experienced reservation cancellations with the government and schools closed. At least a dozen eateries participating in the biannual promotion remained closed altogether on Monday.
To help make up for some of that, the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington has decided to extend Restaurant Week through Feb. 3. That means diners will have an extra three days to get three courses for $22 at lunch and $35 at dinner at more than 200 local restaurants. This is the first time RAMW has ever officially extended Restaurant Week, although individual restaurants have done so in the past.
Meanwhile, the Restaurant Week promotion with UberEats, which lost a day due to snow on Monday, will only continue through Jan. 29. If you don't want to dine out, UberEats is delivery Restaurant Week entrees from different restaurants each day this week. Today's offerings include a Cuban sandwich from Lincoln and Charleston perlau from Georgia Brown's.
