Everyone wants to open a beer garden these days. (Hey, it beats the secret phone number “speakeasy” craze.) The latest? Glover Park Beer Garden, a summer pop-up on the patio of The Savoy Suites Hotel opening tomorrow.
But except for a couple local beers—DC Brau Corruption IPA and Atlas Rowdy Rye—beer aficionados won't be impressed. Unlike Dacha, Standard, and other beer gardens that pride themselves on unique brews, Glover Park Beer Garden’s selection is rather bland. Among the brands boasted in a press release? Coors, Corona, Heineken, Stella Artois, Guinness, Miller Light, Budweiser, Sam Adams, Allagash White, and Blue Moon. Bottles start at $6 and drafts start at $8.
The food menu, which comes from the hotel's Twist Georgetown Restaurant & Lounge, isn’t much more exciting. Think chicken fingers, grilled cheese, calamari, caesar salad. The full food menu is posted below.
The beer garden, which feature two 50-inch TVs, seats around 150 at picnic tables and sofas. It will be open Monday through Friday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 11 p.m.
