Get Half-Off Your Bill During Sette Osteria’s Opening Tonight on 14th Street NW

7F984DDC-A088-4A2F-83AF-8B2C85CEA392The owner of a 14th Street NW Italian restaurant has replaced it with... another Italian restaurant. What was once M Cafe Bar has been transformed into a second outpost for Sette Osteria, which also has a location in Dupont Circle. For its opening night tonight, diners will receive half-off their bills beginning at 7 p.m.

General manager Mehdi Zorgani previously told Y&H that owner and retail developer Iraklis Krabassis opted to bring Sette Osteria into the space because they felt a more casual spot would fit better with the neighborhood.

Italian-born executive chef Nicola Sanna's menu features an extensive list of pastas and pizza, but gluten-free options like grilled swordfish, mussels, and filet mignon are clearly labeled. Diners can even get gluten-free penne or spaghetti. The dietary labeling continues with symbols designating vegan dishes and those with no cheese.  Menu item prices range from $8 to $28.

An extensive wine-by-the-glass list ($6 to $12) focuses on Italian varietals, and the cocktail list includes interpretations of classic Italian drinks. There will be some Italian and craft beers, too. Happy hour will run nightly from 5 to 8 p.m. and all-night on Sunday and Monday.

In addition, the 72-seat dining room with 30-seat private dining area has been completely renovated. An Italian architecture and design firm aimed to create a "cozy cool meets classic rowhouse dining atmosphere" with lots of wood, steel, and glass.

The restaurant will be open daily for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and for dinner from 5 to 11 p.m. Weekend brunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
