While her passing 10 years ago touched all of us who adored her, what we like to remember from that day was reports of what she ate as her last meal. Julia's last meal wasn't the grand feast she had said she wanted. There was no caviar, oysters, foie gras, pan-roasted duck or poached pears. It was simpler, much less grand, but just as delicious: French onion soup. In our humble opinion, it was perfection.
