Navy Yard Oyster Company may have fallen through, but it looks like Navy Yard will get a seafood spot after all. DGS Delicatessen owners and cousins Nick and David Wiseman will open a raw bar and restaurant called Whaley's in the same Anacostia River-facing building as Osteria Morini, Agua 301, and others.

The restaurant will serve a combination of small plates and family-style platters highlighting sustainable seafood. Expect shellfish towers, a scallop crudo with charred grape vinaigrette, New England clam chowder, and grilled swordfish with braised endive and black garlic vinaigrette.

Whaley's name comes from Zedekiah Whaley, a Maryland naval officer during the Revolutionary War. The restaurant is expected to open this spring.
