Yet Another On-Demand Alcohol Delivery App Will Launch in D.C.

Is it possible to have too many on-demand alcohol delivery services in D.C.? We'll be up to four with the launch of Minibar—which has nothing to do with the José Andrés restaurant—on Thursday. The New York-founded app joins Klink, Ultra, and Drizly, which all debuted in the District last year.

Like its competitors, Minibar offers a range of wine, beer, sprits, and mixers delivered to your door in under 60 minutes. Unlike its competitors, there are no delivery fees, just the tip. Users can download the iPhone or Android app or just head to minibardelivery.com. The order minimum is $25. The platform provides pairing suggestions and tasting notes. One nifty feature allows party hosts to type in the length of an event, number of guests, time of day, and type of alcohol to get an estimate of how much of each spirit they need. There's also an option to send booze as a gift.

Minibar already operates in a number of cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago, and Miami. Here's where they'll deliver in D.C.:
